Coaching and Counseling Support (on-line support now available!)

Great Visions Consulting serves only two primary industries: construction (in all its professional and field components) and trade associations.  When you retain us to provide coaching and counseling services either for yourself as an individual, or for your company's managers and employees, you are getting a resource with almost 30 years' experience. We know the subtleties of our unique business climate and culture. You know you will not be getting general or vague advice which doesn't relate to the real world you or your employees must live and work in.

Coaching and Counseling support is available in-person, via telephone, and now on-line.

Who can and should use this service?

Bosses and Senior Managers:  most senior-level people can benefit from having a third-party confidential "sounding board" with whom to test ideas and strategies.  Often they are faced with difficult personnel decisions, or even just knowing what to pay for a job.  For the owner of a small business, a third-party outsider, knowledgeable in general business, can be the confidential resource and team member s/he can never have inside the company.

Bosses and Senior Managers who recognize the value of personal business coaching, may choose to give "x-number" coaching hours per year to key employees in recognition for a job well-done, as part of employee development requirements, as a tool for on-going on-the-job problem solving, or just as a perk of the job.

Middle and Younger Managers:  many middle managers and all younger managers usually obtained their positions due to technical skills, not management ones.  Now they are thrown into an environment where the need for their technical skills is more limited, and the need for management skills is at a premium.  Their management experience may be limited or non-existent.  Maybe they only have college classes to fall back upon. But, they have been given a trust; they don't want to fail.  At the same time, they don't want to ask questions of their immediate supervisor or the owner which might be perceived as not-well-thought-out or even dumb.  The confidential third-party outsider can be a perfect coach for middle managers and first-line supervisors.  They get advice, they get a business "expert" with whom to test ideas, and they get a person who can listen to and empathize with their problems.

Managers at all levels with career questions:  With the exception of the owner, all managers worry about managing their career decisions.  How long should I stay in a job?  If I decide to leave, how do I do this without burning bridges?  What are the ethics involved in changing jobs?  What, if anything, do I owe my current employer? What employer promises are credible and which are not?  What do I need to do to develop "for the next level"?  Because so many managers have these questions, and because they rightly recognize their employer should not pay for personal career advice, Great Visions Consulting's Coaching Service can be individually contracted, and paid for with a personal credit card.

Confidentiality

All client interactions are confidential and treated as doctor-patient relationships.  Corporations requesting coaching and counseling support services for their managers or employees must acknowledge the confidential nature of the relationship and agree that they will be informed only of the name of the employee and the time used.
